Gilbert Romero Jr. began the Bittersweet Gospel Band as an outreach to young people to promote good choices and positive values. Gilbert comes out of a gang and drug background in East Los Angeles. He pastored a church there, managed a men;s rehabilitation home, and continues to oversee an outreach ministry to the poor in Mexico. Gilbert has partnered with Scott Duffey since 1997. Scott is from Maryland and pastors a church in Virginia. Together they work at building bridges for people from various cultures through their recorded music and live concerts. The songs come from their life experiences and are meant to inspire and motivate people to connect and get involved in service and outreach in their own ways. ;Cardboard Hotel; is based on the lives of those who actually live in the landfills in Central America. ;Jesus In The Line; paints a picture of those who wait outside a Rescue Mission. ;I;m Blessed; is a song of celebration. ;Now We;re Free; rocks like a U-2 song and reminds of where true freedom comes from.
