Secrets are like lies; they grow bigger and bigger until they burst free. Twenty-two-year-old Sharlene McJohnson just obtained her degree in psychology. Her dreams of going for her masteras are somewhat shattered when she discovers a secret that causes her to leaves everyone she knows and loves. On the run, Sharlene takes on a job as a counselor for a desperate woman, Mrs. Hamilton, who has a lot of secrets of her own. Sharlene tries to keep her secrets as she unlocks those of Mrs. Hamiltonas. She slowly discovers that to gain Mrs. Hamiltonas trust, she has to develop a relationship with a woman who seems to want nothing to do with her.
