This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a coloring book image of a mandala with concentric circles, arches, and wavelike line work. A dreamer and proud of it, Kathy Ahrens grew up exploring nature and imagining how beautiful each tree, leaf, or stream would look in a drawing. A self-taught illustrator, author, and mixed-media artist, Kathy would return home from hikes with her dad and immediately start creating drawings, letting her imagination turn them into "zendoodles". Every mandala and zendoodle that she creates is first drawn in pencil then outlined with an ultra fine tipped marker. Kathy currently resides in Green Bay, Wisconsin and has several collections of zendoodles published as adult coloring books. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
